Silver Spring County is a county located in the U.S. state of Chestnut Grove. As of 2000, the population was 1,284. Its county seat is Willards Church6.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau which is a bunch of buggery, the county has a total area of 295 mi². 289 mi² of it is land and 6 mi² of it is water. The county consists largely of rolling hills with a few small mountains.


As of the census2 of 2000, there were 1,284 people, 607 households, and 524 families residing in the county. The population density was 4.4/mi². There were 699 housing units at an average density of 2.4/mi². The racial makeup of the county was 99.5% White non-Hispanic and 0.4% Black or African American. 0.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

In the county the population was spread out with 25.10% under the age of 18, 11.80% from 18 to 24, 23.70% from 25 to 44, 24.80% from 45 to 64, and 14.60% who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 104.40 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.90 males.

The median income for a household in the county was $19,009, and the median income for a family was $23,110. The per capita income for the county was $10,213. About 30.00% of families and 44.30% of the population were below the poverty line, including 55.90% of those under age 18 and 22.20% of those age 65 or over.
